She is excited to join the Maternal Infant Wellbeing team in November 2024 and will offer appointments in breastfeeding medicine alongside children’s health appointments.
Jess was born and raised in the inner west suburbs of Melbourne. Her studies took her to New South Wales where she graduated from The University of New England and the University of Newcastle’s Joint Medical Program in 2016. Her interest for paediatric medicine led her to complete the Sydney Children Health Program in 2018.
Her clinical work made her realise that she couldn’t imagine a career without working with children and young people, but she also enjoyed working in adult medicine too. Family medicine felt like the perfect fit and she completed her FRACGP General Practice specialist exams in 2022.
As a GP, Jess loves working with families to support good health for all. She has up-skilled in breastfeeding medicine under Dr Amber Hart to better support mums and bubs. She loves all aspects of infant, children and adolescent health from talking about breastfeeding, troubleshooting bedwetting or constipation, all the way to contraception, painful periods and mental health.
Outside of clinical work, Jess also teaches first year medical students at The University of Melbourne. And when she’s not working, she’s a bit of a foodie and enjoys finding new places to eat with family and friends.
