Andrea Hunt
Sleep Consultant & Mothercraft Nurse
Diploma of Early Childhood Education | Postgraduate Certificate in Prenatal & Postnatal Care
Andrea is a highly experienced Certified Pediatric Sleep and Development Practitioner, sleep consultant, and Mothercraft Nurse who provides evidence-based, biologically informed support to families from late pregnancy through to the preschool years. Her approach is grounded in the science of infant and child sleep, early brain development, and attachment — supporting families without the use of sleep training programs or rigid behavioural techniques.
Andrea’s work focuses on helping parents understand why their baby or child sleeps the way they do, rather than trying to “fix” sleep in isolation. She supports families to read and respond to infant cues, build confidence with feeding and settling, and develop realistic expectations around normal infant and child sleep and development. By working with each child’s temperament and developmental stage, Andrea helps families create approaches that are sustainable, responsive, and aligned with their values.
As a mother of three, Andrea brings both professional expertise and lived understanding of the emotional load that disrupted sleep can place on families and mental health. With 25 years’ experience supporting families through Enhanced Parent Support Services, she is known for her calm, reassuring presence and practical, non-judgmental guidance.
Andrea is the founder of Sleep Hunter and works with families across infancy and early childhood, providing support with sleep, settling, feeding, play, development, toileting, and behaviour.
Andrea’s philosophy is simple: sleep is developmental, changeable, and deeply individual — and parents deserve support that works with their child’s development while preserving connection and trust.
