Tamera is a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience supporting the mental health needs of infants, children, adults and families across a range of fields including community mental health, private practice, paediatric research and early intervention. She has specialist training in infant and perinatal mental health, including provision of assessment and therapy for children and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, emotional dysregulation, adjustment issues and recovery from trauma.
Tamera has a passion for early intervention and infant emotional wellbeing, attachment and strengthening the parent-infant relationship. Her integration of knowledge and experience in both infant and maternal mental health enables her to provide a unique and holistic approach to her practice. She has a special interest in understanding the inner world of infants, particularly as it informs therapeutic work and is passionate about assisting parents with their own mental health and wellbeing.
Tamera utilises evidence-based therapies and her practice is influenced by attachment theory, family-based interventions and interpersonal neurobiology. In addition to her clinical practice, Tamera is currently undertaking a PhD in paediatric psychology at the Royal Children’s Hospital and University of Melbourne.
