Registered Health Psychologist

Dr. Pree Benton is a registered Health Psychologist with 10 years of clinical experience and a special interest in women’s mental health including: perinatal mental health, fertility challenges, eating disorders and body image issues, women’s pain, and trauma. Pree provides compassionate, evidence-based support, tailored to individual needs.

Pree appreciates that the perinatal period creates a monumental shift in identity and can bring up many new and old feelings to work through. Pree supports mothers navigating:

  • antenatal/postnatal anxiety and depression
  • pregnancy loss
  • worries about birth
  • processing your birth
  • adjusting to parenthood and changes in identity (matrescence!)
  • enhancing bonding and attachment with your child
  • anger/”mum rage”
  • body image and feeling pressure to ‘bounce back’
  • relationship changes and sharing the parenting load
  • setting boundaries with others to prioritise your and your child’s needs
  • adjusting to returning to paid work

Pree believes the foundation of good therapy is connection. Therapy is about trust and honesty, and with a solid connection you can be supported to work through your challenges and find new ways to get your needs met. Pree’s approach also centres around the values of integrity, centering you as the expert in your own life, empowerment, advocacy and transparency.

As a mother of two small children herself, Pree has also personally navigated many of the challenges you may be finding yourself wading through.

Babies and young toddlers are welcome in sessions.
