Dr. Amber Hart started Maternal and Infant Wellbeing Melbourne in 2019 with the aim to provide families with the skills to meet their breastfeeding goals and thrive in the early days of parenthood.
Over time, and exacerbated by a pandemic, the lack of consistent perinatal support and increasing social isolation in the early days of parenting has become more and more obvious. Families are feeling overwhelmed by the inconsistent and unregulated information that floods this space and are seeking better options.
With this in mind Maternal and Infant Wellbeing Melbourne has undergone a transformation and has blossomed into an amazing retreat where families can not only continue to access high quality feeding, sleep and settling support, but also consistent, coordinated and evidence-based medical and allied health care while at the same time having their minds and bodies nurtured in a beautiful purpose-built space.
Preventative healthcare is a priority at MIWM and our first-of-it’s-kind Breastfeeding Day Stay Facility will allow mothers to be held in a safe, supported space. Breastfeeding skills will be consolidated, and we will provide the tools to troubleshoot any problems that arise, while honouring mothers and protecting their physical and mental wellbeing.
Education plays a big role in prevention and our antenatal and postnatal classes set parents up with the skills and knowledge to successfully and joyfully navigate the early days of parenting.
We can’t wait to welcome you into the clinic!
